Howard "DUMBASS" Dean
As if he hasn't said enough to rank as one of America's MAJOR LEAGUE DUMBASSES, Howard Dean stepped in it again...and certainly not for the last time.
Along with the OTHER DUMBASSES who have leapt onto the Katrina Bandwagon, DNC (Dumbass National Chairman?) Howard Dean is quoted with the following:
"We have to come to terms with the ugly truth that skin color, age and economics played a significant role in who survived and who did not..."
Now here's an original thought, from an original thinker! I can just imagine Dr. Dean, who grew up in the Hamptons and is a millionaire, salivating over the bad news in the Gulf states, while watching events unfold from one of his mansions.
Among other notable Deanisms (it's hard to choose ~ there are SO many):
-Claimed the Republican Party did not understand the lives of hard-working Americans because they "never made an honest living in their lives."
-Characterized Republicans as "a pretty monolithic party. They all behave the same. They all look the same. It's pretty much a white Christian party."
-On Republicans and race: "You think the Republican National Committee could get this many people of color in a single room? Only if they had the hotel staff in here."
-On Tom Delay: "I think Tom DeLay ought to go back to Houston where he can serve his jail sentence!" (DeLay has never been charged or convicted of any crime).
-While campaiging for President: "I still want to be the candidate for guys with Confederate flags in their pickup trucks."
Howard Dean is a man on a mission: To be the BIGGEST DUMBASS on the continent...and he is doing a terrific job! Keep it up, Doctor DUMBASS. WE LOVE YOU HERE ON DOTW!!!

Good one, bro! Howard Dean is ALWAYS a leading candidate for DOTW in my book! This guy is so transparently liberal and anti-ANYTHING Bush that he gets lost sometimes in his rhetoric. I even think he believes some of it!
But once again, there were PLENTY of "dumbasses" out there my friend, as you know. Just look at these GRANDSTANDING ASSHOLES in the SJC today while preparing to hammer Roberts (starting tomorrow with the questions).
They each had 30 minutes, and damn if they didn't each use it all to make themselves feel important.
Can't wait til tomorrow, and I think you will have some GREAT CHOICES for next week's DOTW!!!

It was a tough choice - but Dean ALWAYS fills the dumbass shoes nicely.
Any suggestions for next week, let me know! Seems that with the hurricane-revealed dumbasses and the senate judiciary-related dumbasses, there is a WIDE field for DOTW yet again!
Howard Dean, who is a MEDICAL DOCTOR, is far from being a dumb ass! Far from it, do you realize how tough it is to get through med school?

Starling - I gotta agree with Malph on this one. And just because someone can achieve academic success has NOTHING TO DO with common sense. Nothing.
But I would like to make a prediction - "SHRUB" (as you lefties like to call him) is underestimated EVERY TIME. He will come out of this disaster smelling like a rose - if not immediately, then in the near future. This is a HUGE opportunity for him to shine and show what his administration can do - the rebuilding of a MAJOR and world-famous U.S. city.
This will be a bipartisan, multi-level project with Governors, Mayors and politicians of every stripe. Wait and see.
Howard Dean is one of the least intelligent people in America. And I love him! He's the gift that keeps on giving for Republicans.
