George Carlin - Still Not Funny, and STILL a DUMBASS!
As I recently watched George Carlin making a total DUMBASS out of himself last Friday night on Real Time with Bill Maher (who, incidentally, is also a real DUMBASS), I found myself asking (myself) two questions:
1) Has George Carlin EVER been funny? The answer for me goes way back to the 70's, when I first saw him "perform." I remember thinking to myself "Wow - this guy talks alot about farts, shit, masturbation, nose-picking etc. But sheesh, he is REALLY NOT FRIGGIN' FUNNY!"
2) How does a guy like Carlin, himself now a RICH WHITE GUY, get off saying such stupid shit on T.V., such as:
Now let's get real for a second here. George Carlin, who has been in and out of rehab for drug and alcohol addiction more times than I've been issued parking tickets (and that's a bunch, friends ;-) feels qualified to tell us how to vote and what is wrong with our government?
This 69 year-old washed-up junky/alchy has-been REALLY needs to find a nice, quiet shithole to retire and stock up his poisons. Leave the politics to those of us who can still qualify for security clearances and maybe rub a few brain-cells together...mmmkay, DUMBASS!?

Man, I am WITH YOU! This shithead was like the original whiny liberal potty-mouth comedian. It never ceases to amaze me how people like Carlin, who couldn't even hold a steady job or pass a piss-test for a decent position in ANY self-respecting corporation, firm or company (including the government or military) thinks he can shed some wisdom on us with his political knowledge and social commentary.
I imagine this fuck couuld roll a mean joint, but otherwise I doubt he has anything valuable to impart.
Never has a bigger DUMBASS graced a stage. George is a classic self-loathing relic of the 70's.
I'm with you on another thing too - I have NEVER found this guy funny...not ever.

But don't you remember when GK was funny? I do...Albums - Class Clown/Occupation Foole...Seven Dirty Words - this was some of the first comedy I was exposed to. No cable back then - only records. But, you all are right, along the way while Richard Pryor was burning himself and Carlin was having heart attacks, he became less funny. Now I did see him on HBO last year and most of that stuff was pure Carlin 'People who should be strapped to a dentist chair and beaten with hammers: Parents who name their little boy 'Todd' Then he goes off on the pretentious yuppie names we all hate - Tucker, Colby, Cam, etc - simply hilarious. But GK has not been relevant for years. It's a shame he truly has a brilliant mind!

Not to disagree (I have some friends who agree that Carlin USED TO BE funny), but his brilliant mind is pretty much gone now. Drugs and a lifetime of bitching can do that to ye.
I think the reason Carlin and the rest of the left-fringe entertainment morons always seem pissed is because their politicians KEEP LOSING! And the biggest paradox is this: These entertainers are part of THE REASON they keep losing.
Your average American doesn't get the anger and venom.

While I'm no huge Carlin fan, I cannot let a bald faced lie go by. Carlin went into rehab in late December 2004 FOR THE FIRST AND ONLY TIME.

YOU ARE CORRECT!!!! I looked at more sources, and dicovered that he has only entered rehab once, this past year. Bad info - shoulda' checked better. Shame on me.
HOWEVER, George Carlin has been a DRUG HEAD (dope, cocaine and LSD to name a few) and an ALCOHOLIC for his entire adult life. Only recently did this waste of space try to fix it.
My point remains - he is still A DUMBASS ADDICT who has no business telling YOU OR ME how to think or vote. He wants to do comedy? Fine - it ain't funny to those of us with half a brain or more left, but he obviously makes a very good living at it. Good for him.
He criticizes the military and the war, and yet could not even get his drunk/stoned ass through a gig in the Air Force - dishonorably discharged in 1957 (why not look THAT up?).
