Cindy Sheehan ~ A Gold Star DUMBASS
Okay, so Cindy has been working very hard to make my DOTW - and I recognize that. Unfortunately for Ms. Sheehan's recently developed ego, there has been much more important news and she has been largely overshadowed as of late. However, being an EQUAL OPPORTUNITY kind of Dumbass Detective, I kept her in mind and am now prepared to recognize her achievement.
Congrats Cindy! YOU are the new DUMBASS Of The Week!!!!
First, a word on her TRULY HEROIC SON....Casey Sheehan. Despite your loopey mother, we honor your patriotism and sacrifice.
And now, Sheehan has hired a Public Relations firm to guide her through this peace movement. She has been joined by such liberal suck-ups as Jesse Jackson, Jessica Lange, Al Sharpton and Joan Baez.
During her camp-out in Crawford Texas, and then her Bus Tour to Washington D.C., she has blasted Israel, George Bush, Tony Blair, Hillary Clintonand our folks in uniform - and often with colorful language. She has staged mock "cry-ins for Casey," protests in which she lies about being "roughed up," and is now signing deals for PAID speaking tours.
This child-like, attention-addicted DUMBASS has outworn her status as "Grieving Mom" to most Americans. Her crowd of 100,000 descending on Washington D.C. amounted to far less than half of that, and we can only hope that this is a sign that her ride is about over.
Monday Update: After three ignored warnings to "move along" while staging a "sit-in" (or whatever it's called), DUMBASS pulled a Martin Sheen and got herself arrested by D.C. police. (Hey! Martin SHEEHAN....hmmmm ;-)

Her husband has filed for divorce, and her own family has condemned her actions:
Casey Sheehan was an Army Specialist who served his Nation honorably until he fell in April 2004. Like millions of his equally brave countrymen over the last 229 years, he had volunteered to serve his country and paid the ultimate price. His life, and death, should be honored by all Americans.
As a mechanic in the 1st battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, Casey did not have to go into the battle that claimed his life. When some of his fellow soldiers encountered resistance, he and others in his unit chose to go into combat to save his friends.
Cindy Sheehan herself recounted it this way: "[T]he sergeant said, "Sheehan, you don't have to go," because my son was a mechanic. And Casey said, "Where my Chief goes, I go.""
"The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son's good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect."

It is truly amazing, disgusting and shocking at the level of stupdidity in our country that a complete phony like Sheehan not only would be granted so much media attention but would also be taken so seriously by so many people--all because a few people hate the President.

I'll disagree with you Chazz. Sheehan is not a dumbass. She's not smart enough. She is a pawn, a pawn that is being used by the Left wing powers-that-be to exact paper cuts on Bush.
Anyone who gives credence to Sheehan should ask themselves these questions:
[1] Sheehan's son--Casey, whom she did not raise--chose to enlist in the service not once, but twice.
[2] Casey's memory is dishonored by the anti war marches and rallies.
[3] Intelligent people recognize, know and understand #'s 1 and 2.

You people really kill me - Cindy Sheehan is THE BRAVEST woman from going out into the public and challenging this asshole presidient. If she were running, I would vote for her in a second.
She is not going away, adn neither are we who want the SHRUB gone for good.

It doesn't take bravery. It takes depression and insurmountable sadness. Cindy Sheehan is attempting to fill a huge void in her life with these new friends...famous and rich, they are dazzling her with this attention. Meanwhile, her family life is completely shattered - but that doesn't matter to these soulless freaks (like Sharpton), who see a meal ticket in Cindy Sheehan.
Once the lights dim (as they have begun to), and finally her usefulness is spent, Cindy is going to be left with nothing. And, maybe then, I'll feel sorry for her.
Lets just say the U.S.A. Did pull out of Iraq tomorrow and Cindy the Dumbass got her wish. What would the anti war bunch's stand be on the next event that would fallow? With out much of a Military infrastructure, and police force Iran, and the Terrorist’s would walk all over them. All the political leaders in Iraq would surely be executed. Then we would have the problem of mixing Iran’s ultra fanatical government with the oil resources of Iraq. That sounds like a good start for disaster in the part of the globe that is already the middle of 80% of the worlds security problems. Any one who has read any of the Terrorist’s propaganda would know that they feel we have no backbone thus making us a great target for what one can only call a war of terror.
So you don’t forget these are some of the words from Osama bin Laden’s 1996 Fatwa. It is not hard to see he was emboldened buy what he feels was our weakness. I have a feeling he never thought we would clean up both Afghanistan and Iraq before we were done.
But your most disgraceful case was in Somalia; where- after vigorous propaganda about the power of the USA and its post cold war leadership of the new world order- you moved tens of thousands of international force, including twenty eight thousands American solders into Somalia. However, when tens of your solders were killed in minor battles and one American Pilot was dragged in the streets of Mogadishu you left the area carrying disappointment, humiliation, defeat and your dead with you. Clinton appeared in front of the whole world threatening and promising revenge , but these threats were merely a preparation for withdrawal. You have been disgraced by Allah and you withdrew; the extent of your impotence and weaknesses became very clear. It was a pleasure for the "heart" of every Muslim and a remedy to the "chests" of believing nations to see you defeated in the three Islamic cities of Beirut , Aden and Mogadishu.

I was quoting the lowest of the terrorist To show it was not a lack of understanding that made them come after us. It was our lack of resolve that made them think we would turn tail and run. Pulling out and Leaving Iraq to them would be very very very bad.

You said that Sheehan is being taken so seriously because a few people hate the President. The truth is that a lot of people hate the President. And the reason she is taken so seriously is because this Iraq issue is a HUGE PROBLEM. Bush put us here and intends the American people to shrug it off and pick up the huge tab of the war.

you want to talk about the money cost of this war. I guess people like you think inforcing the no fly zone for 12 years was free. well it was not free and pilots were being shot at. Over the last 12 years we were never not at war with Iraq in that respect, and we have been picing up the tab all along. Un like the people on your side of this issue I remember the history before the war and know Iraq almost killed a group of Inspectors as well as never went out of there way to comply with the UN.
